The five people trapped in a coal mine accident on Sunday in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province have been confirmed dead, local authorities said on Tuesday. The flooding occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Sunday at the Datonggou coal mine of Heilongjiang Fengyuan Mining Co., Ltd. in the city of Jixi, the Jixi publicity department said. Following intensive rescue operations, the bodies of all five individuals have been found but showed no signs of life.
